This video provides instructions on testing the horizontal or vertical stepper motors (controls the left/right and up/down movement). We recommend you follow these instructions to determine the exact cause of your problem. You would typically follow these instructions if your machine is failing to move left/right or up/down (note, you may need to run your machine in “manual mode” to bypass any HCAL or VCAL errors you are experiencing, and then you may notice that horizontal or vertical movement is not working properly).
By following these instructions, you will be able to confirm whether the problem is caused by the stepper motor or if the problem is caused by other faults such as the motherboard or control panel.
If after switching the stepper motor wires on the motherboard, the same motor still fails to work, you can now confirm the motor is faulty and replacing it should solve the problem.
If after switching the stepper motor wires on the motherboard, the opposite motor now fails to work but the original faulty motor is now working, the problem is not the motor but another problem, such as the motherboard. Your machine would now require further testing to determine the exact cause of the fault.
