How to replace the master switch (v1)

Search Help Articles

This article relates to v1 machines only. To determine if you have a v1 machine, please read this article here.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

  • Philips head screwdriver

PROCEDURE:

Step 1: Remove the Purple Body from the machine. Please follow the instructions in this video:

Step 2: Replace the master switch following the procedure in the video below. If you have a machine that does not have the option of external power you will have only four wires connected to the master switch.

Step 3: Reinstall the purple body and control panel back onto your machine. Follow the instructions in this video to correctly place the body onto your machine, noting that your curtain may not be yellow, but the process will be the same:

Step 4: With the purple cover back in place, please do the reverse of the steps shown above to take the cover and control panel off your machine. These are:

  • Reconnect the 2 or 4 wires behind the charger jack.
  • Do up all 9 screws under your machine. We recommend your machine
be on a work bench or table with the side hanging slightly over the edge so that
you can install the screws upwards. Install all 9 loosely to begin with then
tighten them once they are all in place. Note, the screw under the transport
handle may be slightly different to all the others.
  • Reconnect all of the cables to the motherboard and secure it to the
machine with the 4 screws. Install them loosely to begin with and then tighten
them once all are in place. Do not overtighten as it can damage the control
    panel.
