First, check that your remote control is not accidentally sending signals without you knowing. You can remove the battery to ensure it is switched off.
If this doesn’t solve the problem, then unscrew the four screws on the control panel and gently pull it out with the motherboard on the back. Check the flat ribbon cable to see that it is connected properly to the motherboard. You can try disconnecting it and blowing on it to remove any dust or dirt that may have built up over time.
Check that the flat ribbon cable doesn’t have any creases in it. Any damage to this cable can interfere with the connection between the control panel and the motherboard.
Carefully replace the control panel, making sure not to crimp any cables in the process.
