This article relates to both v1 and v2 machines. V2 machines were released in October 2020. If you would like to determine if you have a v1 or a v2 machine, please read this article here.
If the battery is fully charged, your machine should last a minimum of 3 hours (and can last up to 8 hours on basic settings). If you are not achieving 3 hours, it may be time to replace the battery.
Our batteries come with a 6-month warranty.
The battery specifications are 12V, 20Ah, 181.5mm (L) x 77mm (W) x 167mm (H), however, you are welcome the vary the ampere-hour (Ah) value as long as the dimensions remain the same. The machine supports the use of both Sealed Lead Acid and Lithium LiFePO4 batteries, however, you will need to adjust a software setting if switching between battery types. The internal/external battery wires have ring connectors which can connect easily to most battery terminals with a screw/bolt. Replacement batteries should be available locally or through your local Spinfire distributor.
If you have tried replacing the battery and you are still not able to achieve 3 hours, the most likely cause is the master switch or the wire connections to the master switch (particularly on v2 machines). A defective master switch or connections can cause increased electrical resistance which causes the motherboard to incorrectly believe there is insufficient battery power and therefore it shuts down the machine prematurely. By replacing the master switch & connected wires, the motherboard will then be able to correctly detect the battery voltage and your machine’s play time should return to normal.
Your local Spinfire distributor can supply a master switch and help you with replacing it.
